| Bio: | I'm difficult to impress or excite and I tend to be reclusive. On the other hand, I do enjoy things, especially absurdist conversations, and like going for walks and generally wandering. Just don't expect me to hop up and down or go to lots of parties. I usually wear a t-shirt and some sort of pants. Fanciness isn't something I'm good at or really appreciate.
My tastes tend towards the obscure and absurd. My favorite band is They Might Be Giants. I like David Lynch's films (at least the ones I've seen). I enjoyed reading Killer in Drag. Robot Chicken is probably the best TV program airing. I really enjoy The Show with Ze Frank (a podcast). Nextwave is a lovely comic book series.
I like many popular things too, but they're not nearly as much fun to list ;) I'll list some below, in the favorites section. Wit, satire, intelligence, mysteries, and puzzles tend to draw my interest.
I fail to fit into any part of popular culture. Some of my friends are gamers, comic book geeks, and anime fans. I'm none of those, but I'm generally capable of discussing those sorts of things, or at least tolerating discussion of them.
I'm intensely interested in computer science, particularly social networking, web services, content analysis, security, artificial intelligence, the Semantic Web, and networking. If you can think of a field in CS, I've probably poked at it. If you can't think of a field in CS, I can still explain what I do, in a general sense. I also dabble in linguistics, photography, gender, and film studies.
